We are delighted to be hosting fun free ‘Grow Your Own’ Workshops this June for green fingered adults to take part in.
The short drop-in workshops will take place in sessions through-out the day on Friday 21st June in Queens Square and are being led by Julia Parker who owns Parker’s Patch, providing vegetable gardening courses in Sussex.
At the workshop you will learn about all stages of planting and aftercare, and Julia will provide live demonstrations and top tips on growing items such as basil, mint and salad leaves. Whether a beginner or a more experienced gardener, everyone is welcome to take part.
Over the course of the fun and interactive 20-minute workshop, you will also plant your own seedling to take away with you and continue to nourish from home.
Julia runs Grow Your Own workshops from her gorgeous garden in Sussex and is passionate about growing fruit and vegetables, whether people have access to a garden or a window ledge. Julia will be sharing her knowledge to budding attendees on the day for a successful harvest year-round.
Marketing Executive for Priory Meadow, Leanna Lawson said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Julia to Hastings for this fantastic pop-up event. You only have to view Parker’s Patch on Instagram (@parkers_patch) to see the stunning and inspiring images of fruit, herbs and vegetables that Julia grows.
‘Priory Meadow continues to offer varied events for people of all ages and interests and this will only add to our wonderful events calendar for 2019. With this event we want to make it accessible and easy for the people of Hastings to learn about growing their own vegetables from home.’ she added.
The adult only workshops are approximately 20 minutes long and are running at 10AM, 10.30AM, 11AM, 11.30AM, 12.30PM, 1PM and 1.30PM. This is a drop-in event and no booking is required; however, numbers are limited at each session and will be run on a first come, first served basis.
